Adani is now in the power sector, too, coming up with a 4620MW thermal power project(Largest Project in India till now[citation needed]) in Mundra, Kutch district.The first 6 units of 2640 MW have been completed as reported by june 2011[citation needed]making it india's largest private commercial power producer . It has plans to set up a whole total of 16,500MW by 2015 and 20000MW by 2020[citation needed]. If completed, Adani Power will be the largest private company having largest power production on coal-based power. Adani Energy the one of the largest natural gas distributors in India.

Adani Enterprises in August bought a coal mine in Australia for about Rs 12,600 crore (Rs 126 billion) in a cash and royalty deal. It will invest $6.9 billion in developing its recently acquired Australian coal mines. Group will develop mine, rail and port project in its Galilee Basin coal mine in Queensland, Australia to produce up to 60 million tonnes of coal a year at its peak.

Adani Wilmer is the largest manufacturer of edible oil in India with a market share of about 45%. Adani Enterprises is the largest trading house of india in importing coal with a market share 60%. It also supplies coal to NTPC, India.

ADANI group manages one management college namely AIIM and a medical college, GAIIM at Ahmedabad.Rajesh Adani, Vice Chairman of the Adani Group is nominated to the Finance Committee of the Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, Gandhinagar, Gujarat

Adani Power Ltd (APL) will be expanding its capacity of its under-construction thermal power project in Tiroda, Maharashtra, from 1,980 MW to 3,300 MW.For this they would need an investment of Rs 14,000 crore.

The Tiroda plant is the first large-scale investment by Adani Group outside Gujarat. The project is being implemented by subsidiary Adani Power Maharashtra Ltd.The company has entered into a power purchase agreement with Maharashtra Electricity Company Ltd for 1,320 MW.

The Tiroda project, being set up by APL with Millennium Developers, will use coal from captive mines at Lohara (West) and Lohara extension coalfields.

The company is also evaluating investments for generating 1,320 MW in Rajasthan and 2,000 MW at Dahej in Gujarat.
